Individuals with Disabilities
On this trip, students will work with a non-profit organization which seeks to provide empowering accessible outdoor recreation opportunities to adults and youth with disabilities. Throughout the week, students will provide hands-on assistance with accessible outdoor recreation activities, and in addition will assist with community outreach and sustainability efforts. Students will gain a better understanding of some of the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, while at the same time helping to reduce widely-held stereotypes regarding limitations of such individuals’ capabilities.
