Students on the Rural Culture trip work in a small, impoverished community where a cotton mill several decades ago relocated and left locals without jobs or much opportunity to rebuild. Students spend the week performing various volunteer tasks around the community, which might include painting, cleaning, and volunteering in local schools. Another great thing about this community: They feed our students very well, as the community organizes several potlucks throughout the week!
